Show a Live Match on a TV
Score on your phone, watch it on the big screen. Cast to a Chromecast from the app, or open one page on any TV and scan its code.

No account needed on the TV
The TV never signs in. It only shows what the scorer's phone or laptop sends it, and it can't change the score.
Pair it from the scorer
In the NextOnCourt app
- 1Open the match you're scoring.
- 2Tap ⋮ More, then Show on TV. (In pickleball, it's the TV button in the controls bar.)
- 3Chromecast: your TV appears under Nearby TVs. Tap it. The first time, iPhone asks to allow local network access — say yes.
- 4Browser TV: tap Scan TV code and point the camera at the QR code on the screen, or type the 4-character code under it.
- 5The TV switches to the match within a couple of seconds and the sheet shows your connected TVs.
On the website
- 1Open the match in the live scorer at nextoncourt.com.
- 2Click Show on TV next to Share.
- 3In Chrome, click Cast to a TV to pick a Chromecast; in any browser, type the TV's 4-character code.
What the TV shows
Who can pair a TV
Anyone who can score the match: its scorer, or an organizer of the event. Spectators can't.
Control the TV
From your phone or laptop
With the TV's own remote (browser TVs)
During and after the match
What to expect
- 1Every point shows up on the TV the moment you score it; clocks on the TV and on your phone run on the same time.
- 2If your phone loses its connection, the TV shows SCORER OFFLINE after a few seconds and catches up as soon as you're back — any points you scored meanwhile arrive in order.
- 3If the TV itself loses internet, it shows RECONNECTING and then catches up on its own.
- 4When the match ends, the TV shows the final for ten minutes, then goes back to its pairing screen so the next match can take it.
Leave the page open
Closing the TV's browser, switching HDMI inputs, or stopping the cast ends the scoreboard. Pair it again any time; a fresh code appears on the TV.
Troubleshooting
Quick fixes for the things that most often get in the way.
My Chromecast doesn't appear under Nearby TVs
Both devices have to be on the same Wi-Fi. On iPhone, check Settings → NextOnCourt → Local Network is on. Fire TV Sticks and Roku TVs aren't Chromecasts: open nextoncourt.com/tv in their browser and scan the code instead.
"No TV is showing that code"
Codes expire after ten minutes. The TV refreshes its own code, so read it again from the screen. If the TV shows a match already, press Up on its remote (or reload the page) to get a new code.
"Couldn't start casting"
Another app on your phone is casting to that TV. Stop that cast, then tap the TV under Nearby TVs again.
The TV shows SCORER OFFLINE
The scorer's phone is offline or the scoring screen was closed. Reopen the match; points scored while offline are sent as soon as the phone reconnects.
Someone else's match took over my TV
Pairing is first come, first served: whoever enters the code last gets the screen. Press Up on the TV remote to show a fresh code and pair again, and keep the code off camera if the room is busy.
The scoreboard looks cut off or tiny on an older TV
The TV page needs a browser from 2020 or later. Update the TV's software, or plug in a Chromecast and cast from the app instead.
Common Questions
Does it cost anything?
No. Showing a match on a TV is included for every scorer and organizer.
Does the TV need an account or the app?
No. A Chromecast launches the scoreboard on its own, and any other TV just opens nextoncourt.com/tv. The TV never signs in and can't change anything.
Which matches can I show?
Any match being scored live on NextOnCourt: tournament, league, academy, pickleball, TYPTI, and INTENNSE ties.
How many TVs can show one match?
Up to six. Pair each one the same way from the Show on TV sheet; every point reaches all of them at once.
Can spectators pair a TV to a match?
No. Only the match's scorer or an organizer of the event can pair or control a TV, so a court's screen can't be hijacked from the stands.
Does it show statistics?
The TV shows the score, serving side, clocks and the final. Match statistics stay in the app and on the match page.
What happens when the match is over?
The TV shows the final for ten minutes, then returns to its pairing screen with a fresh code, ready for the next match.
Why does my iPhone ask for local network access?
That's how the app finds Chromecasts on your Wi-Fi. It's only used while the Show on TV sheet is open, and only to list nearby devices.
